Yes, if they are part of a wider conservation strategy for your project.
No. We fund projects worldwide, but we prioritize in-situ research and conservation work. Desk-based studies are not eligible.
The grant can fund the entire project or be part of a larger effort. However, projects where this grant contributes less than 40% of the total budget are unlikely to be funded.
Yes. Please include a sentence on this in your pre-proposal. Full details will only be requested from applicants invited to submit a full proposal.
We cannot fund travel to conferences, vehicle purchases, or land acquisition. We are also unlikely to support large-scale or long-term projects, such as those involving satellite telemetry work or implementation of a nationwide education campaign.
Projects should begin within one month of funding being received and be completed within 12 months.
Your pre-proposal should be no more than two pages and include:
· A project summary
· A detailed budget request
· A timeline
· Project objectives
Applicants will be notified by email if their pre-proposal is successful. At that time, they will receive the full proposal template and submission instructions. Notifications are typically sent approximately 2–4 weeks of the initial submission.
