Desi Milpacher
Desi MilpacherPublications EditorDesi Milpacher grew up loving animals -- her parents instilled in her a love of wild animals and plants, and she became a dedicated conservationist and naturalist. Once in university she studied biology and other sciences, eventually graduating with a diploma in Animal Health Technology (AHT) from Thompson Rivers University in British Columbia, Canada. Most of her work afterward involved caring for companion animals. Then she discovered parrots, and once the bug bit, it bit hard, and as a result she has kept parrots now for nearly two decades. Desi joined the World Parrot Trust in the early 2000s and became a volunteer. She joined the staff a few years later and now her work includes publishing the enewsletter Flock Talk, the WPT quarterly print magazine PsittaScene, website development and maintenance, writing, editing, researching and marketing. |
