Both adults blue forehead; crown to nape dark brown; off-white ear coverts; upper breast dark brown scalloped with yellow, green lower breast scalloped with yellow. Bill black. Bare eye ring grey/white. Eye orange.

Similar to that of Painted Conure: in flight a harsh, forceful pik-pik or pik…pik but less harsh than that of other Pyrrhura sp.
